What parents would like to know

All the important information is collected clearly in one place. Select a question to open the answer.

01Who is the yoga course for?

The yoga course is designed for children at my primary school and is adapted to the different grade levels.

02What does my child experience in the yoga course?

Children experience a mix of movement, child-friendly yoga postures, partner-yoga exercises, breathing games, body awareness, guided imagery, sound and relaxation. The exact structure depends on the age group, the group itself and how the children are feeling that day.

03Does my child need to be athletic or flexible?

No. The yoga course is not performance-based. Every child may explore exercises in their own way, take breaks and notice their personal boundaries. The focus is on experience, not perfect postures.

04How do the classes differ by age group?

In grades 1 and 2, stories, animals, play and short periods of rest are central. Grades 3 and 4 practise for a little longer and more consciously. In grades 5 and 6, independence, school stress, recovery and applying ideas in daily life become more important.

05What if my child finds it difficult to sit still?

That is not a reason to exclude a child. Children with lots of energy often benefit from moving between activity and rest. Stillness is not forced; it is introduced gradually and playfully.

06Does my child have to close their eyes or join every exercise?

No. Children may lower their gaze, look at a fixed point or simply observe an exercise. Choice and a safe awareness of personal boundaries are important parts of each class.

07Can yoga reduce stress or restlessness?

Movement, breathing and relaxation can give children helpful ways to notice and regulate tension. However, the yoga course does not replace medical, psychological or therapeutic treatment.

08What does my child need for the yoga course?

Comfortable sportswear that allows free movement is enough. Jeans or other restrictive clothing are less suitable. All other materials are available in the yoga room and are provided.

09How does registration work and what does the course cost?

The fee is 25 euros per month. First, you can request a trial session through the contact page. Afterwards, you receive the registration form as a download or directly at school. Please return the signed form online or at school within seven days. The place is reserved for the full school term only once the form has been returned on time; otherwise it may be offered to another child.
